The Early Career Leadership Development Program
Leadership development for early career employees starts with understanding that leadership is a behavior, not a title. Participants explore the difference between technical and adaptive challenges, and how to lead across both. Building on Start Strong, we go deeper on how curiosity drives better collaboration, problem solving, and influence. Participants also learn more about their own mindsets and behaviors through a DiSC self-assessment and how that is impacting those they work with.
Participants will:
Define leadership behaviors they can practice now—regardless of title
Learn the difference between technical vs. adaptive problems and how to respond to each
Use DiSC insights to communicate more effectively and collaborate across styles
Continue to build bonds with their peer cohort
The first workshop in the early career leadership development program sets the foundation for everything that follows.
Start Strong kicks off the cohort by helping employees feel grounded and energized about where they are and how they can contribute. The cohort builds a shared foundation around the core skills—Build Trust, Create Clarity and Authentically Care—and introduce curiosity as the mindset that accelerates learning, growth, and impact.
Participants will:
Build a shared language for trust, clarity, and care in high-autonomy tech environments
Strengthen curiosity skills that improve learning, adaptability, and confidence
Leave with a set of actions for how they want to build a stronger foundation for their career
Develop relationships with their peer cohort through learning and fun
Start Strong
Lead from Anywhere
One of the most overlooked early career leadership skills is understanding how energy shapes every interaction, decision, and outcome at work. Participants complete the Energy Leadership Index (ELI) assessment in advance of the session, then use the workshop to understand their unique energy profile. Through a series of activities and scenarios, they explore the 7 levels of energy, recognizing where catabolic energy is draining them, and shifting toward more productive, creative, collaborative anabolic energies. The day also reinforces a core theme across the series—moving away from judgment toward curiosity.
Participants will:
Understand their ELI results and what their energy profile means at work
Practice identifying energy levels in real situations and choosing a higher-impact response
Learn tools to shift energy upward in moments that matter
Deepen their connection with their peers through shared experiences
Optional: We encourage participant managers to join this session or have a concurrent session so that employees and managers can speak the same language moving forward.
Vision the Future
The final workshop in the early career leadership development program closes the year with reflection, direction, and genuine momentum. Participants will experience the activities and feel both grounded and creative. We end with a celebration of both the growth participants have experienced and the strong relationships the community has built. This workshop strengthens belonging, clarifies direction, and sends the cohort into the next chapter with confidence, connection, and momentum.
Participants will:
Reflect on growth across the year and name the strengths they’ve built
Clarify direction and define what “next chapter” success looks like for them
Leave inspired by personal and group commitments that increases confidence, connection, and momentum
